Wondering what's up this weekend?

the 5/6 Ministry will continue to meet in their usual room for the next few weeks. They'll make the move two doors down as soon as we get everyone else situated!

Junior High and High School will be meeting in the Student Center from now on. This weekend is more of a "tour" than an actual worship service. We're still purchasing all of the things we'll need to be ready by Grand Opening weekend on the 28th. The keyword for the next few weeks is FLEXIBILITY. The room will be a work in progress.

The College Ministry will begin meeting in the new Student Center as soon as we can get everything we need in there! Shouldn't be long at all.

Stay tuned!

Important Things

We have a crazy, but EXCITING, few months ahead of us. Here are some of the important things that you need to be aware of.

Feb. 14 - Serve Day at the Citadel - 2 - 4p. We want to go and bless the folks at the Citadel with some good ol' fashion jr. high hang out time. We are going to play some BINGO, paint some fingernails (just the women get fingernails painted), and just hang with them. Directions are here. We are going to be in the Care Center, which is located off of Broadway Rd.

Feb. 15 - Party at the church - 11a - 1:30p - $3 for lunch - We are going to be hanging out and playing some games. The students have the day off of school, so we just want to take advantage of the time and play together.

Feb. 27 - NO SATURDAY NIGHT SERVICE - We will not be having a Sat. night Jr. high service this night. We will all be going to the main service together that night. Our last Saturday night meeting is going to be Feb. 20th in the Warehouse.

March 15 - 17, KnottsBerry Farm - We have filled up our bus already which is great news. We have started a waiting list, and if we get enough students on the waiting list we will rent a van so we can all go!! To register your student go here.

We have more cool things happening in April and May!!!

Chat Roulette

Hello parents,

There's a new website that is becoming VERY popular, very quickly, and I wanted to warn you about it. The website is ChatRoulette.com, and it has the potential to do some serious damage in the life of your child. The site exists to create anonymous video chats between people. All that is needed is a web cam. When people log on they are immediately connected to a completely random person- it could be anyone of any age living anywhere and doing ANYTHING. While something like this has the capacity for good, it has already turned into something wicked. A CNN report that I read said that they witnessed several vulgar/inappropriate things in just a few minutes of being on the site. Pornographic activity, vulgarity, and everything else we'd love to keep from our kids' eyes.

My advice to you is to talk to your student about the concerns you have about this site. I would even consider blocking it on your home computers. Video chat isn't an evil thing in and of itself, but this website has too much potential for evil. There's no reason for any of our students to be on it at any time.

Also, if your kids have an iPod Touch or an iPhone, please know that they have unlimited access to the web. They can access almost any website from their iPods and iPhones that they could on a regular computer. For your home computer, I would recommend downloading the X3 Watch software, which tracks the websites that a computer visits and sends an email to a selected person if any questionable or mature sites are visited. They also have an app for iPhones that tracks the same thing! If all of this is confusing to you please feel free to call Ryan, Josh or Spencer in the office and we'd be happy to sit down and show you how to utilize these things.

LHGH Signups

This Sunday is the first Sunday that students can sign up for Life Hurts, God Heals. The program will meet on Sundays from 2 to 4pm for the next 13 weeks. That is a pretty hefty commitment, but we believe it to be necessary for this particular program. Students will need to attend at least 10 of the sessions to graduate from the course. Got questions? Contact Kim Robinson by email at .

Forest Home 2010

Summer will be here before you know it, and we are kicking it off with what could turn out to be the BEST summer camp ever known to mankind. I truly believe that this year could be one of those special years as far as camp is concerned.

This summer CJ Bergmen will be leading our Jr. High students in worship all week long. If you know CJ at all, you know he has a heart for worship and that he LOVES leading students in worship. The camp speaker for the week is Ron Merrell. Ron is currently serving at Grace Baptist Church in CA as the Young Adult and College Pastor. Ron is one of the best communicators around when it comes to connecting with jr. high students. With CJ and Ron leading our times of corprate worship, and the amazing team of leaders that we have going, it is the "PERFECT STORM" for our students.

Here are the details that are important for you to know:

When: June 6 - 11

Where: Forest Home, CA  -  Mill Creek Canyon

Cost: $380

Times: We will be leaving the church immediately after the 9am service on Sunday morning, and arriving home sometime in the evening on Friday.

Deposit: $75

You may register your student HERE

We will be taking the first 48 students that sign-up. After the first 48 students, we will begin a waiting list afer that. Fear not, the waiting list is there to gauge how many students we have after the 48, and this list will let us know when we need to get more transportation. So... sign up your student ASAP to gaurantee a spot for them.

Knotts Berry Farm / Newport Beach

Cali here we come! This spring break we are going to be taking our students in the Jr. High Ministry over to California for some serious fun. We will be departing early on Monday March 15, and arriving in Cypress California sometime in the afternoon. We are going to be staying at Cottonwood Church in Cypress, California. Tuesday we will be spending all day @ KnottsBerry Farm. Wednesday morning we will pack up all our stuff and head over to Newport Beach for a few hours of beach time. After lunch we will head back home and will arrive sometime later Wednesday night. The total cost of the trip is $115. This includes, transportation, Knotts ticket, and 6 meals. Your student will be responsible for lunch on Monday and lunch on Wednesday.

Register your student here. We are taking the first 49 students that sign up, then we will start a waiting list. (make sure to put your student on the waiting list, as this will determine if we need more transportation)
